Description:

How often do you see a doom 3 map on wip? How about a doom 3 deathmatch :P. This is a map I started a while ago, and it was pretty bare. I made a doom 2 legacy version, and now I finally came back to the doom 3 one. I'm trying not to suck with this. Not sure if its working :P. It was a fun map to play, I'm just trying to make it not look like crap. Still got a while to go until I get there with the whole map. This map is fairly small for doom 3, since I dont beleive in giant deathmatch maps.

funny how classic doom style it is, but i think thats cool.

Yeah i figured that it was the same map. A word from the wise (that's me in this case) don't use trim textures (aka long thin textures) to cover whole walls. It really looks poor.

Also, be very very careful when you make the lighting, for several reasons. 1 being that the lighting is the main thing to cause speed problems in Doom3, another being that the lighting can make or break a map. In Doom3 more than any game.

Looks way too colorful. But yeah the lightning really needs improvments. But I am looking forward to this map ^_^

Heh, my father actually made a classic Quake 3 deathmatch map titled Lunar Outpost :) Looks pretty good so far, by the way :P

a tip for lighting it has to make sense also personal preferance {usally} dont use anything besides white light for normal lighting use red lights for hazard lights and other signs and such blue lights for under railings and such

What Kristus said about trim textures covering a whole wall. Avoid doing that as it look weird.

The curved room in the 3rd shot, with the glass looks neat and I like that you can walk under it.
