Description:

Risen Egypt released.

Risen Egypt is only playeble by the new version of Risen3D v1.7.0.

First install a clean new version from :

http://risen3d.newdoom.com

Unzip the file in the Risen3D folder ( with the dir structure) and play with the new launcher.

Chiller Castle and the Astec are also converted for Risen3D and can be downloaded from the Risen3D site.

Yea, in the main while I did scale the skeletons to human proportions.
But the change is to less for uploading new screens.

I appreciate it, and it gives the impulse to go on, to make a beautiful level.

Its going very well, I have swimmable water, a lot of traps, models, 3D floors etc.

Risen is very fast and there are still no problems with lag, so I keep going to expand the level.

I love that first screenshot. Probably one of the best uses of dynamic lighting I've seen in Doom. I love how it enhances the area, rather than being the centerpeice of it.

How do u make the models??

I use wings3d for making the models and UV mapping.
Photoshop CS for making skins and textures.
Milkshape 3D for converting to md2 format.
qme or mdl for assign the skin to the model.

I you want advice for modeling, ask me.

wings3D, qme and mdl are free programs.

Milkshape is shareware.

Photoshop is commercial, but there are also free painting programs.

My point was that you are making a whole new 3d game out of classic doom.

Its so advanced I would of thought it would work better on doom 3.

Sitters, I have a question.

I use Gmax, but it outputs MD3s only. I need MD2 for Ken's Poly -> Voxel utility. My project using the modified Zdoom engine (R One) will have voxels and I need to find a way to make md3s to md2s. The rest I'll figure out myself.

Does shareware Milkshape3d will still convert my md3s to md2s even if I don't register it?
I'd really appreciate help here.

Yea for me works this the best for converting 3Dmodels,

You never play with Wings3D ?
It is modeling direct on the 3D model.
It is very easy and great, And with easy UV mapping.
And you can convert it to MD2 with Milkshape.

I learned myself using Gmax (3ds max lite edition) and it's pretty powerful I say :) Plus I won't needed for serious jobs except some models that'll be converted to voxels. In 2-3 years, once I upgrade my comp and start developing for Ogre3d, then I'll be more serious into models.

Yes, but not now (the Ogre engine).

Now I'm making a game using a modified Zdoom engine as a base thanks to my programmer and good friend :)
