New Screenies.

Ok now jsut a few short points.
-Has a dehacked, chaging monster and gun and ammo/health behaviours, dont like it? take it out of the wad file, its the DEHACKED lump.
-Has bad monster balencing issues, so play on an easy difficulty or with god mode, I may change this before release.
-Recommended for internet play.
-Pic one is part of another project of mine and will be changed. (my mistake)this was origionally level 01, but now is a stand alone.
-This dosent use a skybox, as I dont think legacy can do this.
-Sky in shot 2 is wrong, just a bug.
-This has survived 2 HD formats some how, and thus I have lost much interest in improving it, so I am just going to fix the balencing.

Well... It looks interesting but it's really hard to make out any details from the shots. Try getting some shots from som brighter areas and don't compress the images that much.

Allright allright =), the wad is basicly done anyways, but i am jsut searching for help on how to make it look better. Anyways, yeah its actually a legacy only wad... (sorry, its my fav.) so yeah, ill post some new pic's within the week... =)

I'm not impressed by the shots (too dark) but the map looks very detailed. I'd recommend you'd use the lightamp cheat (idbeholdl) and then take some screenies. It's too dark to see anything. And try using PNG for the shots too. Much better quality at almost same compression than JPG.

Experienced Mapper's advice:
DO NOT USE IDBEHOLDL when making screenshots.
Tune up gamma, adjust screenshots but don't make them fullbright.

Yeah, ok ill take that advice. Thnx, Only problem now is getting some sort of shot that looks nice =), i have about 100, and theres only like 20 that really show anything good, cause most of the early rooms are small. I mostly posted this for a little bit of attention, and alot of advice on how to do the area on the outside. (its hellish)So im going to be posting better pic's of screen shot 3. any suggestions or comments are welcome =)

Outdoors should be as varied and random as they can be-no symmetry. Scattered rocks and everything You can to make it believable. Try to vary the ground plane, rocks, bumps, puddles with Slime of Fwater. Outdoors are opposite to indoors-which should have a tought and arranged architecture. Nature is random, try many rocks, etc.
Outdoor lighting can also greatly enhance Your map if You work well with the shadows and light-try to interpret the realistic lighting with the sectors-You know, angled shadows, half-lit areas, etc.
A perfect example is my Place of the Tomb map-search /idgames. Most indoors are symmetrical and have specific architecture, while outdoors are very random and chaotic-as everything in nature.

The outside is too bare in my opinion. Make a little height variation on the red rock, doesn't have to be huge. That would be a good start.

For some odd reason, a lot of legacy maps work with GL edge. So guess what? Find a mod with flashlight/flare "weapons".

Ok, there its updated. I Know the screens are rather dark, but it seems ok on my monitor, on some, it may not be ok... (labtops, LCD???, ect...)

I am not going to brighten them, or the level for that matter. I am not going to convert it to GL edge, just because some one tells me that they want wepons with flashlights. What I will do, is finnish it up, release it, and allow you to modify it to your likeing with prober credit to me, and any other authors matereals who may be in here.
