This is actually going to be two Doom II maps. First one will have DMing inside in the giant colloseum itself, the second out in the courtyard. The framework of the map is done and the map needs only to be populated with DM spawn points, decorations and pickups plus some texture alignment here and there and last minute touchups. It SHOULD play on any port since it uses no "extra" linedefs and such, but has only been tested on the latest version of Doomsday and Legacy. It was tested on the Doom95 (Doom for Windows 95) and had a many HOM effects in the arena and on sky textures. I would certainly recommend a limit rmoving engine though I got no runtime errors on Doom95.

The screenshots are from Doomsday with the jDTP, jDRP, and jDUI paks installed (and others that don't relate to a still frame ;)). It looks pretty good with the original texture in Legacy.

the name "doom arena" is definitely lacking.

try song titles.

shots look nice, though.

Everything looks rather underdetailed. But for a Deathmatch wad, that may not be what you are aiming for. As long as it plays good.

Also if you want to find a cool name for your level, go to the thesaurus on dictionary.com and enter what style of level this is (e.g. arena/colluseum) and it will give you a list to work with. Just be sure to look the word up on the dictionary before using it. Sometime the thesaurus entries don't always mean the exact thing you may think they do.

don't take this offensive, but is there anything jdoom specific in those screenshots?

No, that's why I changed it to a limit removing engine on the specs. This is the first real map that I made for DeathMatching and I didn't want to limit it to one engine or another. I want it to be playable on any port. It's only been tested in Doomsday and Legacy, but it should run just fine with ZDoom, EDGE, Boom, etc.

I don't think it's too bad considering it's using stock Doom II flats and textures. I may or may not make some custom textures before release.

"A tribute to Neptune" would be better, as far as Mars is a red planete, but Neptune is blue. Keep up your good work!
