Description:

The "Strange Quirky Weapons Including Retarted Extra Levels" Mod is mainly an EDGE weapons mod. There are nine levels included (Two secret) and about twenty weapons. It is now for Edge 1.28.

The weapons are cool, shot 2 and 3 look nice but shot 1 is too bland. Not quite sure where you could add in detail though. Maybe some trees or watch towers of some sort.

I'm actually standing on one of the two towers in the level. I wanted to put more detail in, but there are hordes of monsters in that level and it destroys framerate.

I've been developing it on my P350 laptop without 3d acceleration. However, I can play it in GL mode on my other computer.

Ah! I uploaded the ZIP file to Gamers.org. Of course, being the complete idiot that I am, I trusted my level editor to delete a certain thing when I told it to and left it alone. Now, I've sent a message to have them take it off so I can upload the fixed version.

The editor left the second biggest new boss in the most obvious secret in the level. God damn DoomEd.

Still working on the mod. Almost ready to upload to Gamers.org. I can't call this wad completely serious or a complete joke wad since I take nothing about it too seriously. Threw up some new screens in GLEdge 1.28a. Might take a few minutes for WIP to sort through them.

Yeah, people still use DoomEd. I do anyway because I'm stupid.

I just uploaded the complete and fixed mod to the INCOMING folder on Gamers.org. When it gets placed in Newstuff, I'll link to it and deem this done.

The flamethrower and Samus's arm were from the bitch-ass weapons emporium. I've made Samus's arm into a bio-cannon that fires green blobs of toxic waste.

The flamethrower, being in the weapons emporium, is probably circulating in many WADs.

The weapon in #2 is the homing disc launcher.

It's programmed to have a different episode for itself. I.E., it takes no space from Hell on Earth. But as soon as the new version is approved and posted, there is no worry.

now thats was a bit of fun! yea i enjoyed that, the weapons were cool and the maps wernt to bad after all. oh but i could not finish it(the lift does not work on map07). but it was still good, good ideal with the outro.

I'm pretty sure the lift works. I just had to be a pain and make the button in front of the lift lower a barrier to a cyber, which guards a switch that lowers the barrier to another boss, which guards a switch to raise the lift.

that was quite possibly the worst mod i have ever played. I hate to be so annoying but please take this as constructive criticism. The weapons lacked originality, ripped from all kinds of random games, one weapon not fitting in with the next ie inconsistency. Also, the maps were bland, boring, and I didn't even play them all, i just skipped through using idclev to the end to see if there was anything special at the end.

The weapons could have used a lot of work. All of the ones that shot actual projectiles basically acted exactly the same. The animation was corny.

Sorry to be so critical, but I really didn't enjoy it. I'm saying this because people only hate EDGE because of things that this wad has.

You may not find it surprising that it's difficult to take your comment as "constructive criticism" when it starts off with "that was quite possibly the worst mod i have ever played."

How about bringing some of that wonderful constructive criticism to stuff that matters and not my obvious POS first ever release?

And I'm fairly sure that people hate EDGE because it's stunningly inferior to ZDoom in almost every way. But hey, thanks for laying the blame on EDGE wad authors. We needed to be put in our place. Next time I make an EDGE wad, I'll have to remember that I'm making it to popularize the source port. Here comes Uber Crap 2: Crap Harder!

If You like we can run a poll "which sourceport is better" on DW/Newdoom/Zdoom/I dunno.
You are ofcourse entitled to Your opinions about Your sourceports tough, but please speak for yourselves, not for the mass. As I said-we can let the mass speak in a poll.
